Fixing a 2 way miss

If you are someone who struggles with a 2 way miss, then our latest video should be right down your street!

Ross takes Ash, an 18 handicap golfer, through his Driver custom fitting at the studio. What should have been a typical Driver fitting, ended up having a bit of a twist…

Ash, like many amateurs, struggles with a big two way miss with driver. So in this fitting we concentrate a lot on trying to apply a concept to enable Ash to take one side of the course out of play, and generally help him to keep more balls in play.

Through the video and after a warmup, Ross looks at Ash’s current driver and what results he currently gets from that. Following on from this, Ross makes some tweaks to his existing driver, followed by a number of varieties of heads and shafts. Some of the combinations tested were as follows

  • Taylormade Qi10 LS 10.5* / Mitsubishi Tensei Black 65 X

  • Cobra DarkSpeed LS 9.5* / True Temper HZRDUS Black 6.5

  • Tileist TSR3 9.25* 12g / True Temper HZRUDS Black 6.5 / Golf Pride Midsize Grip

  • Tileist TSR3 9.25* 8g / True Temper HZRDUS Black 6.5 / Golf Pride Standard Grip

  • Callaway Ai Triple Diamond 9.5* / True Temper HZRDUS Black 6.5

  • Cobra DarkSpeed 9.5* / True Temper HZRDUS Black 6.5

Once Ross has tested all of the driver heads and shaft combinations he then puts Ash back into his Callaway Paradym to do one final comparison and some help on his swing.
